trendz_web_oct_nov_2016_beaulieuRetail marketers are beginning to understand that there’s more to female lifestyles than home, fashion, and dining. You can see it in the way they are revamping their loyalty clubs for women, including health and fitness-oriented ones like Beaulieu shopping center’s Starting Girl Crew program.

Recognizing that its customers are seeking challenges greater than walking around the property, the French mall and La Fabrique Sportive, an organization focused on promoting sport for women, invite customers to join the Starting Girls team every Wednesday for free evening sessions that include 15 minutes of pop Pilates, a 5km run, a 10 minute cool down, and a port-workout social where refreshments and a light snack are served. The program can accommodate 70 participants who meet up at 7:30 in the mall’s central plaza, wearing a white T-shirt and proper running footwear.

The mall created the #StartingGirlsRunWithBeaulieu hashtag to promote the program, hoping that its customers will share it with friends on their social networks. It will certainly help that Starting Girl is the publisher of a namesake blog (the French- language StartingGirl.com), and it organizes community events that support its mission to advance female sport activities, including the running sessions at Beaulieu. Starting Girl also leads fitness classes every third Wednesday of the month. Participation in those 45-minute morning workouts is free and comes with a club T-shirt. Like the Starting Girl Crew program, this series is high energy, with classes that range from body balance to yoga to boxing fitness.
