As host of the 32nd annual IWK Foundation Telethon for Children, McAllister Place (Saint John, Canada) values community communication and care. Working together with a shared mission, the partners raised a record-breaking $6.39 million to help support the needs of the IWK Health Centre, which delivers primary health care to women, children, youth, and families in the Maritimes. Beyond ensuring that the best available care is locally accessible, donations will go toward research, improving facilities, and the purchasing of up-to-date medical equipment.

With established sponsors, including CTV and the Children’s Miracle Network, the annual fundraiser’s reach is strong enough to have achieved consecutive record-breaking totals in recent years. As official broadcaster, CTV transmitted the fundraiser live from McAllister Place during select hours on June 4 and 5, presenting an interactive viewing experience for potential donors.

Beyond encouraging donations, both the IWK Foundation and McAllister Place websites had links to information on how to become one of the hundreds of necessary event volunteers. Spare money or spare time, all thoughtful gestures were welcome and much appreciated.
